I am a television Field Producer & Director located in Kansas City, Missouri, with nearly 10 years of experience in the television industry. I've held various positions across numerous genres and excel in producing lifestyle reality programs. An award-winning journalist, I have a passion for storytelling and shining a spotlight on interesting people, places, and stories.
I can work locally in the Kansas City Metro Area and Salina, Kansas. My physical location in Kansas City allows me to travel all over the country easily and efficiently. I am also flexible to work away from home, on location, for weeks at a time.
About Me
Growing up, I was never one for normalcy. As a child, instead of watching cartoons and children's programming, I watched television classics like "I Love Lucy" and "The Jeffersons." When I was ten years old, while other kids were dreaming of being doctors, astronauts, and nurses, I dreamed of being a game show host and idolized Bob Barker and Gene Rayburn. As a high schooler, even though most of my peers were watching MTV, I was watching "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The West Wing." In college, I realized my passion for television ran deep and decided to try my hand in front of the camera as a reporter and anchor, while also running the campus television station. After graduation, I made it my mission to move to NYC from my home state of Kansas to be a TV Producer, and I'm still fulfilling that dream to this day. This past year, I produced my 100th episode of television. To say I have a passion for TV is an understatement.
Among the countless aspects I love about television, telling stories is my favorite. My education revolved around broadcast journalism and learning how to tell a story in a concise format. Furthermore, I developed a passion for researching and analyzing facts that I never knew I had. As a reality television producer, I use the same skills to shape a contributor's story and make it fit a format suitable for the series - albeit on a larger scale – while also adhering to production policies. Likewise, I am an information sponge and love digging deep on a news story, learning about a historical event, or studying a criminal case.
One of my leading skills is storytelling, but an even stronger ability I possess is storytelling in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. As a former performer (theater, pageants, and singing competitions), I developed a high level of confidence and self-esteem, which allows me to think fast on my feet and handle stressful situations. This skill is crucial in the television industry. Also, I grew up around small business owners and know how important it is to respect authority and work as a team to get things done. Additionally, I grew up in a farming family, which taught me to put my heart and soul into everything I do, even if I never get praise for it. I am a strong communicator, highly organized, self-motivated, and an excellent problem solver
